I came across yoga at the age of 16 when, after facing some personal difficulties in my teenage years, decided to take up yoga as a means of practicing self-care. I was always intrigued about the practice’s emphasis on the mind-body connection and how this could be used to help nourish the mind, body and soul for positive physical and mental transformation.
I approached my first class feeling nervous and intimidated but, with regular practice, started to notice the change yoga was creating in me. I gained an appreciation for the opportunity yoga gave me to access inner stillness and to create space for myself mentally and emotionally. The practice’s emphasis on acceptance and compassion led me to regain a positive relationship with myself. Over time I began to feel at home in my own body and it was this which ultimately led me to heal from the inside out.
I quickly developed a passion for the practice and went on to complete 200-hour trainings in both Hatha and Yin Yoga. I then completed additional training in Trauma-Informed Yoga at the Trauma Sensitive Yoga Foundation in London. I have now been teaching for 4 years and incorporate aspects of trauma-informed work and embodiments practices into my teaching. It is a privilege to able to watch people reconnect to their bodies and become more comfortable in their own skin.
Since training in yoga, I was keen to enhance my journey in spirituality and developed an interest in meditation and somatics. This led me to train in the Realization Process, a subtle, body-based approach to meditation and spiritual awakening. The practice enabled me to cultivate a deeper, more loving relationship with myself and to feel more grounded in every day life. As someone who often felt overwhelmed by the fast-paced movement of life, the Realization Process enabled me to experience myself as something deeper than my thoughts and emotions, an underlying dimension of stillness that felt like who I truly was. I have since trained in all three aspects of the practice and am now a fully-certified Realization Process teacher.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Core-Process Psychotherapy from the Karuna institute. Core Process Psychotherapy is a mindfulness-based approach to psychotherapy which incorporates Buddhist teachings with Western psychology. It emphasizes a deep, ongoing awareness of one’s body and mental processes for self-exploration and healing. I incorporate my knowledge of this approach with my work as a Realization Process practitioner and yoga instructor.
I currently offer classes, private sessions, workshops and retreats in both yoga and the Realization Process.

I’ve been exploring, practicing, and moving from the inner body for 30 years. I’ve found that the inner expression of a yoga pose is the most playful, powerful, and effective path towards personal growth and a strong asana practice. I get my kicks helping you tap into your subtle body and your own inner teacher.
Yoga, including embodiment and meditation, are the most dynamic and intuitive practices I’ve ever encountered. Yoga can give me what I need when I want nurturing, excitement, depth, play, challenge, release, curiosity, energy, strength, or deep personal intimacy. What I love most is that yoga meets me right where I am each time I arrive.
This is what I hope to pass on to you…the ability to know what you need and how to get there.
I am a natural teacher and a seasoned guide. My gift is creating an environment that fosters curiosity, humor, and growth through tangible and accessible steps that help you gain deep inner access and tap into your body’s own wisdom.
I have studied and practiced Iyengar, Anusara, Flow, Hatha and Forrest yoga in addition to many mediation forms including Vipassana and Realization Process.
I lead insightful teacher trainings, workshops, and group classes in Valdez, Alaska, online, and abroad. Expect anything from form, to flow, to energy, to deep peace in dynamic, enlightening, playful, and alignment-based classes. Alignment isn’t rote or from set rules, you’ll learn how to find the alignment that is just right for you each time you practice.
I am dedicated to offering yoga that creates space, ease, stability, and appropriate challenges while making yoga accessible and exciting for all bodies. I thrive teaching you to feel your best.
I taught 6th-12th grade Science, Spanish, and Math in the United States and taught English as a Second Language in China and Ecuador. I’ve also trained adventure guides and guided sea kayaking, ice travel, backpacking, team development, and naturalist adventures for all ages over the last 25 years.
Teaching and guiding are my gig.
I bring this diverse educational background to all my instruction and use a multitude of ways to connect you to your body, environment, or the subject matter at hand. I create a space for self development, community, and empowerment. The results are deep understanding, integration, and inspiration.
My passion for wilderness, the outdoors, and adventure landed me in Valdez, Alaska. I grew up in Los Angeles, California and traveled, studied, and worked all over the world before building my home in the Chugach Mountains. I continue to explore and play in the mountains and on the ocean with my husband and Alaskan wonder dog.
I look forward to practicing, learning, and playing together. Learn more …
